A new Beginning at the Big Red Machine…

Oh boy, I thought as I started work yesterday but it turned out fine because I feel that at the big red machine, there is a new opportunity to work in the new cool area of the big red with fruits, vegetables, and meat and what not. Even though I may have to work with a total tool, who I refer to as the “master” of everything at the machine, he seems prone to just boss people around even though I know that he is only doing that so he can make himself look good, it just demoralizes the team that’s working for him and it makes the machine seem watered down as just being somewhere that lowers morale. Two days ago as I came into work, I felt this anxiety to perform better than I had in the past. But truth be told, my previous regular position as just being a player on a team where it seemed like it was the same old shit everyday kind of got boring after a while and it became kind of discomforting almost a few weeks ago. My position was just to relay communication between the team that was handed to me and the coordinator that was on hand as well. The big red machine presented me with an opportunity to play for a different set of guys that were looking to put together a team that would consist of veteran leaders, new faces, and those that have been put in the position of being coaches for the team. I know for sure that one of the coaches, Mcdaniels, is a veteran leader who knows the area he is working in and he used to have a problem with how things were run at the machine but he seems to have lightened up to his players. So far, through talking to him and getting to study him, he seems like he is willing to be upfront about training players to know certain things such as foods that expire, what to look for in the bakery section, and he also presents himself as dedicated. The first day of being able to work with him was simple, we went over the basics and he seemed really enthusiastic about the opportunity to show me about the new area that he has taken over. He showed me how to cull, what to expect in the area, pushing certain product, and at the end of the day he showed some cool stuff. That was awesome, however, yesterday was hilarious, but not because I made it hilarious but because the “master” made it hilarious. I knew the day was going to be interesting when I came in and I saw him standing behind the desk of the front office because he was so damn intent on getting started. At first, he made it seem like I didn’t know anything about being in this new area of the machine but I told him right off the bat that I knew some stuff because Mcdaniels had already shown me some stuff. I was comforted with the fact that there was someone who knew what they were doing, and that was Bailey who at first wasn’t really keen on doing the work up in the new area but he seemed really cool about it after a few hours. Then the bossing around started which was freaking hilarious, because I saw how much of an idiot the master was. What surprised me is when he showed the team that some meat had begun to discolor but he wanted us to get rid of it but what was funnier was that he had seen it days earlier, yet he was “waiting for the right time to show it to the team.” I said in my head, “damn what is this guy doing with his life?” Then the walls broke down, he then he showed me how to line date which was hilarious because he made it seem as if it was the hardest thing to do. All somebody had to do is look at a chart and print a date on some gun and then bam your done. Bailey then proceeded to tell me something hilarious about master which was basically Bailey telling me that he was  just shoving some product on the shelf to make it fit and master called him a god send and then I’m like “huh”? But the fun doesn’t stop there, we proceeded to find some donuts that were expiring on the 24th and there were in total about 14 boxes with six each in them. Bailey asked master if we could get them for the whole team in the breakroom after we had destroyed them in the system yet master said under no circumstances can we do that and then he said we had to ask the head coach for that night. The coach said it was fine and I highly respect her for that because she is actually someone that has more common sense than most people and why would anybody waist 14 boxes of donuts in the first place? Anyway, it was funny how master also had three new players under his belt because he told them what to do all night but I could see that they were having no fun because master just seemed intent on working them. Bailey and I just cruised right along the whole night until master told us that product has to be at the most two inches away from the top of the shelf which sort of topped of the night, or so I thought. At the end of the night when Bailey and I were working out some last minute drills, we noticed some bananas were being moved around and then I found out: master had told his players to move ALL the bananas and face them the same way which indeed did top the night. Wow, is all I can say about last night, that was hilarious and I enjoy working in the area but sometimes you just have to deal with dumbasses that have no one to look out for but themselves. Anyway, here’s something I watch for fun:
