This was taken the hour of the beginning of the day and the day got off to a pretty good start as I worked out after work at the gym I go to and it was a very satisfying workout in terms of cardio and working out the muscles as well. I slept around 3 o clock that night and I didn’t wake up till around 12 the next day as I had little time to do much at home except walk the dog and watch Smackdown. Going to work was a different story as I found out I was working by myself that night as the other person had called in sick. I was upset by the fact that no one has even cared to do something about me working the night by myself and it was all incompetence based on the managers that work there. They felt that there were other important tasks to focus on but I just said oh well and people could tell on my face that I was upset about having to work by myself and a newbie went up to ask me if I was mad and I explained my situation which she understood but I don’t think she understood the ramifications behind working alone as she has a big team to work with and I had no one. The night went by slowly as I worked hard to get everything but in the end it wasn’t enough as expected. However, I went home knowing that I had at least contributed something to that Machine. I also had lunch with a good friend of mine who has expressed his frustration with the machine as well and I agreed with what he said as we both let out some pent up anger that had happened recently but he did about 80 percent of the talking as there has been a lot of shady happenings at the big red machine lately (people getting fired, writeups, relationships, drama etc.) But, I took in good stride as I don’t want to end up like a few that have ended up there for 5+ years and my goal is to leave by the end of the year.
Day #30 7/8/11: Play the game the same…
Not much to say about the day but I had a very good conversation with my friend at work about certain issues that we see in the world (religion, people’s personality, work, and relationships too). I told him that it’ s all about what you believe and you shouldn’t let others influence what you believe. I was most intrigued by our conversation on religion and people’s personality as I told him about reading of the Enneagram book and he was interested to hear about it as he sees it as something where we have a basic personality set into us from birth and we grow up having that. He also talked about his recent inclusion into a new religion that he has gotten into in the last year or so and it sounded good for him as he was searching for some sort of answer. The day was good to me as I had Panda Express once more as it keeps getting a bit better and I had fun at home too.
Day #29 7/7/11: 10 years almost to the date…
I remember when this used to be a mall in 2001 and my friend and I would go during those hot summer days and play arcades all day but this is around the time also when I started feeling worse physically in terms of the first appearance of my kidney stones which hadn’t been brought to my attention yet. I was worried because I could barely walk the next day as I found out that I had drank too much caffeine and did not have enough water in my system. Ever since then, I have taken the approach to eat a bit healthier and also drink a lot more water. I find this special because this is around the time I started changing and my friends were changing as well. I can only remember this and wonder how I survived not being involved with drugs, alcohol, sex, and all these other less than flattering options that could have been in my future. I moved not long after the year 2001 and I think back about the good times I had back then and what it was like to be a kid.
Otherwise a quick recap of the day:
Got a haircut and returned the movie the Wrestler
Relaxed at home and picked up my brother
Went to Costco with the family
Went to work and actually had fun
and that was pretty much it!
Day #28 7/6/11: Bath and Beyond the realm of the Panda guy…
Not a terribly horrible day but a strange day as my mom and myself gave my dog a bath which she really needed and this is her after she had taken a bath. The day was real simple as I took her walking and I also started getting rid of some old papers I had in my closet and afterwards headed off to the gym where I waited for about 5 minutes or so until my mom got closer to her drop off point. After giving my dog a shower I told my mom days earlier that we should go see a movie and we went and saw Kung Fu Panda 2 which was actually better than the first one in terms of storytelling and comedic action as well. After the movie, I headed off to go and pick up my brother who was at a friend’s house playing Black Ops so it was a fun filled day as ended the night eating Jack in the Box in his parking lot which was great brother bonding time!
Day #27 7/5/11: A good day…
The day was filled almost like a comedy and a drama combined or dramedy as the marks on the internet call it. First, I took my dog on a walk and it was pretty peaceful as I started writing down the songs I have on my Ipod and I want to go through all of them whether it is when I am asleep or awake. I also want to see the distinction there is between what types of songs I hear and the content they contain. I then took my trip down to De Anza to see a counselor with the thought back in my head that I wouldn’t be able to repeat a course that I have withdrawn from a few times. I headed in there thinking it would be a packed house but in fact it was pretty minimal with only 6 people waiting in front of me. I got lucky too because I was thinking before that if I had gone a little later things would have been much different throughout the day. I sat down waiting for my name to be called as I continued reading my Enneagram book with great anticipation and with the reading of each word I kept getting a bit more tense as my name got closer. The hardest part is getting there but when they finally called my name it was pretty simple to explain my situation to the counselor and pretty much my problems were solved when she handed me a form that I could take to the admissions office and I had to give the call number in order to repeat my course as she signed and dated it. I also requested if she could check to see if I needed anymore classes (just to double check) which happily I didn’t and all I need to finish is my Math and that is pretty much it as I was happy as that was step 1 of 2 to enjoying a needed vacation in Mexico later in the summer. Now, before I was saying that if I had gone later things would have been different and to tell you the truth it would have been as I had about 4 missed calls from my brother asking me if I could go to pick him up to take him to my house so we could wait for the towing guy who would be coming in an hour. This wouldn’t have happened if I went to the counselor a little later as there were about at least ten people behind me when I was going to go see the counselor. I was happy to see my brother as we shared some good stories about recent wrestling news but we also discussed the accident which was pretty much the other driver’s fault from what he told me. We headed home to watch the part of Monday Night Raw that he hadn’t seen and we waited for the towing guy as he came a bit after we had sat down to watch the show. Afterwards we headed to the police department for some paperwork and we were on our way to his house. The rest of the day was fun as well as I bought some food for the family to make tacos for all of us including my brother’s family (girlfriend and daughter). Pretty fun day as we once again saw my niece do her best daredevil impression and my mom and myself discussed future plans as well.
Day #26 7/4/11: Beware of Dog? No maybe Dreams…
I took this picture after I realized that there wouldn’t be much of an opportunity to take one later on in the day as I had work at 4 and there was probably a lot of catching up to do at work as well due to there being a delivery as well. I took this picture after walking my dog and I also took this before the A’s just started tanking it against the Mariners (again!). I then realized that the dream(s) that I had the night before were somewhat strange as I usually think that dreams are supposed to mean something and not happen in the immediate future. They were kinda scary as I dreamed that my car was burned from one side or hit and that it was raining outside and then I had cops coming to arrest me for no immediate reason. Well, after I had checked the De Anza College website for possible counseling hours, I went to work and it was a pretty decent closing after all the chaos had settled down and some recent drama once again hit the Big Red Machine. I went to the gym and had a shortened workout due to me wanting to get up early ( for my standards) the next day for the counselor and then my brother had texted to me that he had an accident which was strange because I had a dream that was like that too, except my car was the one that had been burned or hit on the side. It was kinda weird too as I got home thinking that was some crazy shit that just happened and my brother was ok as he left his car at our house as the damage was minimal as nothing too severe happened to the car as the bumper in the front went all out to the front light. But I went to sleep thinking, be afraid of dreams and what they might mean.
Day #25 7/3/11: Super Lucky Happy…
This is one of my true friends from work who looks very happy to be eating where we were for lunch that day at the Campbell mainstay Los Pericos and we had a very vibrant discussion there as well. He is planning on leaving the area for good in the future and all I gotta say, despite my jokes that I make about him, is that I will miss his company and his true wittiness as I can’t say that I can call everyone that works with me a friend so thank you. He took a lot of crap from me too and he hung with me as I will be saying goodbye to him at the end of he month and he deserves nothing better than a good sendoff which hopefully a few of us will be doing at the end of the month.
Quick recap of the day:
Walked the dog
Saw some Oakland A’s baseball
Hung with my dad for a bit
Went to work and had a good discussion with a friend about an issue that I had experienced recently.
Went to lunch with my friend where we talked about life, the afterlife, work, and even some future plans both of us have.
Had a fun time at work due to the easy workload and the way we got set up was pretty nice.
And also went to the gym at the end of the night heading into the 4th where I physically exhausted myself but it was worth it
Day #24 7/2/11: Summer Book(s)…
A friend once told me that if I enjoy what I study then read a book about it or even write about it and I have taken that opportunity here. This is the book I picked up back on Thursday and I’m pretty happy that I did so. The day was pretty basic as my dad and myself went to the bank to deposit money and get cash as well and we got some lunch from Chavez supermarket to get ready for wrestling which was actually better than usual as the wrestling world is a buzzing over CM Punk’s latest promo. Needless to say, the best angles in wrestling are those that mirror real life and this is what kind of draws an audience as I saw this promo as sort of a good thing to bigger and better things. I was surprised that not many angles that WWE does these days pay off anymore but this one can’t miss it because when you have that kind of guy with that sense of urgency then you can build off the themes of appreciation and being able to work hard. The rest of the day was pretty fun as I continued reading this amazing book and I am just about ready to dwell into the personality types portion which should be interesting as I am curious as to what type I am as well as my friends as well. Now, it may not be 100% accurate but I’ll take more as a “the more you get to know a person, the more you’ll see this type come out”. Work sucked but it was also pretty cool to work with a good co-worker of mine as we tried our best to piece everything together. I also said goodbye to a good friend/supervisor of mine who is heading out to greater pastures and his advice to me was to go and finish school so I can get my degree and not work where I work. I was happy when he said “doors will open up for you because you have a good head on your shoulders”. This kept me motivated and I know that I am a very smart guy as all I need is to get some outside sources and I should be all right. Otherwise, a very mellow day despite a few mishaps.
Day #23 7/1/11: Which way to that street?…
Had lunch at Amato’s which I hadn’t had in a few months as I was starving from hardly eating throughout the day and I also helped my dad out on a mini journey to Martin Ave. in Santa Clara and we even got lost which was funny because we were trying to find a place for some frozen strawberries as we found the place but we found out it was a locked cooler. We also tried to figure out how that was possible but the guy that was supposed to leave the strawberries for my dad didn’t leave them so we just left and we last got to Smart and Final for some cereal at that one o clock hour. Work was very busy due to the combination of people quitting, lack of hires, and also the downright low morale of the store in general but me and my pals made the best of it as we worked our butts off to make sure we got a few tasks 100%. I saw that talking with my buddy that I work with every Friday lets me know that there is at least someone that cares as much as me in terms of workrate. Also, I was able to meet a new supervisor that we have hired and she seems very talkative but also seems to think that she may be a bit above everybody else. After work, headed out to the gym for a workout and tried to work off Amato’s as I probably won’t go back there for a while as I continue my goal of trying to cut weight and also working on physique as well.
Day #22 6/30/11: The wonderful wonderful tour of carts…
Pretty fun filled day as I got to start the day off by walking my dog for a pretty lengthy walk and I also informed my dad that I had to go to the library so I could drop my books off including the excellent book Foley is Good. I finished it two nights before and now I am even more curious as to how much wrestling has changed with me hopefully purchasing Chris Jericho’s latest book Undisputed soon. We headed out to sell our recycled bottles first though and we got some pretty good change for that and eventually we headed to the library where I picked up a book that I’m interested in that has to do with psychology and the enneagram. I was excited because I also picked up cd’s by Jay-Z and the famous rock band R.E.M to complete my 2000th song on my IPOD and I can only hope that it all sounds good when I try to get through all my songs on the IPOD. After that we headed out to Costco where we bought food and drinks for the house and I was surprised at how busy it was as the lines were pretty busy for a Thursday and I took this picture to represent just how much of a business food brings in. The rest of the day I was preparing for work and also started reading my book as well. Work wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either as I talked with some old friends
