Day #137 10/24/11: Retroactive…

I remember this day I had to drive back and forth between my job vicinity and home twice which was a drag because of the fact that the night before I didn’t go to sleep till 3 and I woke up at 8 in the morning.  The reason for this was because my mom had gotten hurt at work and I had to go take her to see a specialist who deals with work related injuries and we waited for almost 2 hours. After all the waiting and observation, I treated my mom out to some Subway which I had been boycotting but I said to myself, it was the cheapest option.Once I got home, I watched the movie Bowfinger which was hilarious for all the content it contained and the play it had on Hollywood. At work, it was a completely different story as my friend at work explained all the new procedures that were present and it seems impossible. I feel at this point it is more of a fruitless endeavor that has no solution either way. Once that got over and done with, it was back to business as usual as me and my buddy Silvia had a fun close just laughing and having fun jabbing back and forth. It was a fun night that reminded me of the old nights where we would be struggling to finish but we still had fun.

Day #136 10/23/11: Just win baby…

Pretty crazy day at work and at home as the Raiders ended up losing to the K.C. Chiefs 28-0 and the way my fantasy football was getting there ass handed to them made me think…a little music is always the best therapy. At work, the business of the big red machine boomed as it was the first day of our ad and people bought crazy amounts of food. Nothing much to the day except I noticed that people in any job end up choosing sides one way or another.

Day #134 10/21/11: Higher learning…

The book I’m reading right now to bring back my math knowledge and a good majority of it looks familiar but some of it is like I forgot how to do it. This day my dad had to go all the way to where I work because my mom had a bit of an injury on the job as she slipped on the job. Her foot is hurting but she is getting better as she told me not too long ago. After we dealt with this situation, I went  to my actual job and had a fun close with my old pal as we jabbed at some stuff that we had not revisited in some time. For example, we brought up some old jokes which I had not heard and we just had a fun time talking about stuff other people would not find funny at all. I found it funny that I also saw an old pal in Walt as we discussed some recent news and what he was up to at that point. Otherwise, not much of an eventful day other than the fact that Carson Palmer will not be starting against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Day #129 10/16/11: Little Tortilla Girl…

A picture I took of my niece after she had eaten almost a half of a tortilla. The day was basically me sitting around all day and watching football with my brother as I was supposed to go to the Raiders/ Browns game. My brother was unable to find a baby sitter for my niece but that was fine because I haven’t sat around all day and watched football in 4 years. I remember this day my brother and I were waiting outside for my mom and a cop stopped by to ask us what was going on as my brother made the mistake of parking on the less than fortunate side of Palo Alto. I found it pretty silly that this was going on and I couldn’t help but wonder if they had nothing better to do. I find that sometimes there is a problem in society if we have to be subject to lookups on backgrounds and such. I believe the majority of society does nothing over the top that breaks laws and simply put it is just a way to feel oppressed. Otherwise, a day of doing…nothing.

Day #95 9/11/11: A day to remember…

This was the beginning of the 2011 NFL season and also the anniversary of when the twin towers and the nation was attacked. I remember I was getting up and it was a Tuesday morning as my brother was still in high school and he was getting ready to leave while I was barely getting up. My friend at school came up to me and he asked me if I saw what happened. I told him that was insane and that was the day the world changed forever. As I glanced at the NFL box scores, I only wondered about the insane things that have happened since then and it has been quite a ride. If you can, think about everything that has happened since that day, not only in your own life, but what has changed with people and with other issues. It is now a weird world with a weird tone. Anyway, a good day because of the great balance of relaxation and a little work mixed in.

Day #93 9/9/11: Tired…

This picture I took to show the craziness of the day as my friend at work welcomed me back from Mexico and we had a great time discussing my time there. I remember this day he mentioned if I wanted to go fishing or if I wanted to be the bait. I did quite a bit of work this day but I was proud of it nonetheless and I continued joking around with my friend about all the crazy situations at work and in life. After work, I talked with my good old friend Walt and it was just like old times as me, him, and his girlfriend hung outside of work as a manager came outside to suggest we were doing it like the good ol’ days as we talked about instruments, music, life, and other subjects as well.

Day #89 9/5/11: Back to our regularly scheduled programming…

The vacation made me realize it was going to make it hard to snap back into reality as I worked with my mom this labor day to do what else? Clean our house which was very dirty since the last time we stepped into it and we did for close to 5 hours, cleaning the garage, the rooms, the bathrooms, and in and around the kitchen. I went to work as well to pick up my paycheck from the last pay period and I also saw some familiar faces as I anxiously was waiting to work once again. I ended up buying the new Chili Peppers albums which from my POV is a step in a new and different direction for the band as they are maturing as well as exploring other realms of music. Once we got home my mom and I saw my aunt who I hadn’t seen in some time as we all caught up on what was going on in Mexico. Everybody ended up making dinner as I provided food and such. I also ended up giving my buddy Ricky a call to see what he was up and it was strange talking to him because I felt like I hadn’t talked to him in months. But, all was well and we didn’t miss a beat as we caught up on what was up so it was great talking to him in that sense. That night I went to the gym and had a great time getting back to my place of peace.

Day #80 8/27/11: Long time no see Organos…

My three cousins and my mom and aunt

I woke up and didn’t realize that my mom was serious about taking me to the Sierra of Organos which is very famous for the sight seeing and the various movies that have been made there. I woke up and randomly started watching disc 1 of WWE’s best PPV matches from 2009 and I realized how much of a memory I have of that great year and what it meant to me as a person and as a friend to other people. It ended up being me, Jose (older), my mom, my two aunt’s, and her kids (Caroline,Denise, and Alan). We had some Kicks (Patadas) at this one restaurant that just ended up being two tortillas between shredded pork, cheese, onions, and cilantro. I noticed once we got to Organos there were sheer beautiful sights and how much you can make of the figures that are there. We practically hiked around this interesting titled national park till around 5 taking in the relaxation away from society and just having to take in the naturalness of the place. As you can see I ended up taking some pictures which are proof enough of what this place does indeed look like. We ended up getting pizza to go but wouldn’t you know that Mexican pizza is actually very tasty. The drive from Organos and then to Sombrerete was fun but then on the way back it felt as if it was getting ready to rain which it did once we got back. But, once again the power went out and we ended up eating Pizza on a cast iron so we can eat it. But then, somebody who skips my mind at the moment noticed that the rio close to there was running with water and we went to check it out and I got flashbacks to when my brother was first learning how to drive and we got stuck there. This guy ended up coming out nowhere and helping us out. The end of the night was pretty cool indeed as we all had a very good day.

Day #75 8/22/11: Therapeutic…

My cousin in the middle and my two aunts

It was finally time to head to Mexico and I got up early to help out my old buddy Manuel as he has been on crutches for a little bit now. I noticed once we got to the airport it was very busy as the steps getting on the actual plane are a pain but I can understand why people in higher positions would think that people want to blow up a plane. So the head count was me, my aunt, and my mom and I was feeling like a survivor from my family. Everybody now has kids, works for a living almost killing themselves in the process from so much work, and I thanked myself for taking a vacation due to so much reasoning behind the fact that you work and you have nothing to show for it. But, the best advice I got from watching an interview with a wrestler a couple of years of ago, I realized you save your money and good things will come. Being on the flight, I started watching the best of raw from 2009 as I saw a few segments from the beginning of the year as I got flashbacks when I would go to class in the morning from 10:30-12:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays and I would come home to watch Raw. Once we got there, I saw my beloved uncle Guillermo, who is always willing to lend a hand seeing as how he picked us up and I can’t imagine anybody saying a bad thing about him because he has done so much for my family and I. I caught up with some old family members and after that we headed to a cemetery where both my grandparents are buried and I just noticed the raw emotion that was there from my mom and her sister from seeing there parents. We were there for a little bit until we saw that there was no way in hell that we could get the door open from the door lock being so dry. So, we decided to give a try the next day until we could get it open. The night ended with me, my mom, her sister, Guillermo’s wife, Maria, and Memo visiting an uncle of there’s that they haven’t seen in a while and needless to say it was like therapy. What I mean is that who needs comedians when you have older Mexican folks making us laugh with joy and tears by telling great stories about there adventures, there misfortunes, and as well as there future endeavors. Indeed, what a day!
