I talked with Ricky this morning just before our epic trip to the Oakland A’s/ Orioles game where I somehow thought they would either A) get killed or B) just flat out embarrass themselves but magically they did neither and I was proud of the fact that my buddy Walt and his girlfriend came along as they were willing to make the drive to take us to the Oakland coliseum. It was a fun day where we joked about the A’s horrible record but they somehow came through that day to win the game 6-5. Later that day, me and Ricky hung out some more as we kept talking baseball and we even had a conversation in Spanish talking about what it takes to be a good companion to a girl and also about what it has meant to us to have these conversations as we share some of our past experiences which, believe it or not, are some of the most jaw dropping incidents that can even be heard of. I can say that having these conversations allows us to feel stimulated mentally and we can do it without each of us having a harsh critique of the other. It is good to know either way that we had this good conversation on a balcony at the mall because it served as a reminder that there will be past experiences where we learn and where we can keep striving forward.
Day #69 8/16/11: Hell of a hand…
I helped my brother out this morning to take his rental car to the San Jose airport and needless to say it was an adventure as we both got lost big time and it was a story that can take many hours to explain. I took this picture to remind me that things were so much simpler back then and you didn’t need to really worry about anything but that night as well, I once again started helping again to cook as it has become quite a hobby of mine to find recipes online or in magazines for food as I want to keep the creativity going and I can’t emphasize this enough. But needless to say, a fun night where the A’s magically bust out for a crazy amount of runs and I thought that maybe the next day they would be doomed…
Day #68 8/15/11: Transition…
It was a day of transition as I went to Mission to make sure my pre-req was passed for the spring session and I met up with my good friend Ricky as we discussed life, complications, people we’ve encountered in life, and our future plans. In the wee hours of the morning, I of course said goodbye to my friend Gump and I reminded myself that it was good that I said goodbye to him as I pride myself by not being on Facebook. In the afternoon, I went to grab some food for me and my mom at Chavez Supermarket as she looked exhausted from work and I of course took the initiative to make sure we were well fed. That night from work went by very fast as I had a short shift and I just sort of breezed by it as I knew it wasn’t that big of a deal anyway. All in all, a day of change and quickness.
Day #67 8/14/11: The last hurrah…
I don’t say this often but sometimes there are those days where you wish you hadn’t predicted it ending so suddenly. I took this picture to remind me of the good old days of when I would go out with friends and just talk about life, sports, work, and many other things. The same night I hung out with my old friends from work and I knew that night that one era had ended and another one had already begun. I had gone from eating out, spending money anxiously not wanting to look less fortunate in the eyes of my friends, and being this guy who hung around outside of work to something simple. Now, I either go home or I go the gym after work where my money is well spent. I rarely go out after work as it is a little more friendly on the wallet but I enjoy that sheer enjoyment of enjoying life and paying my dues. Thank you Carrows for the great memories I’ll never forget you.
Day #66 8/13/11: Ouch…
All I remember about this day is the frustration of work and how much of an unreasonable workload it can have but even that can’t be enough to make me upset about the job. You just take it in stride and you try to make the best out of it. This is a CD/DVD that one of my friends gave to me and I have yet to listen to as I have had really no access to a laptop with a CD drive but I intend to do so as Pablo Franciso has some really great jokes in between everything.
Day #65 8/12/11: I want Mexican…
Taken at Los Pericos on my Lunch break as I waited anxiously for the day to end as people were going crazy left and right for a visit that had just occurred. The food was pretty good and work went very smoothly as I met a new co-worker and my fears were met with how much of a depression facebook can be to some people as he explained many of the accomplishments that his friends post on there. It seems that he was a bit curious as to why it happens but people have there reasons so to each his own.
Day #64 8/11/11: Blooming…
Day #63 8/10/11: Remember When?…
I remember this day as the day when my buddy Ricky and I continued talking about the complications of life and the many joys it brings. We talked about the ups and downs and I always feel positive before and after we have our discussions. I took my mom to JCPenny this day as she wanted to buy my relatives some clothes and other things as well for the trip we were taking to Mexico. I also happened to remember when my one time friend/love interest met up at this Dennys after a movie and behind me is where we sat as I sit here looking back on old times as me and Ricky chowed down on some cheap diner food but great nonetheless.
Day #62 8/9/11: Chillin like a villian on Thanksgiving…
My Dog chilling after me and her spent a good chunk of the day together as I hadn’t much of a chance to spend time with her the day before and that night I believe me and my family made some beef pasta and some garlic bread which was very delicious. I also hung out with some good friends and had some dip with delicious frozen pizza!
Day #61 8/8/11: Cult of Personality…
I went to wrestling this day and it was freaking amazing as most of the day I was busy trying to calm my niece down as my brother requested that I take care of her with his brother in law. After I had my time with my niece I picked up my niece and me and brother took the bus to wrestling here in San Jose. I joked with my brother most of the night as I waited for the wrestler of the moment CM Punk to make an appearance and it was quite extraordinary as to how much he has changed the perspective on wrestling and in a way he has made it cool again. I felt the energy of what it was like to be a wrestling fan again and the night ended with me and brother having some mcdonalds. I also couldn’t leave the show without my handy dandy new “Best in the World” T-shirt by the one and only Cult of personality CM Punk.
